Defoamer

Modified Silica excipient is very well known in the defoamer industry.

Conventionally during preparation of a defoamer formulation, hydrophilic silica particles are dispersed in the carrier oil and reacted with  silicone oil at elevated temperature in the presence of an alkaline catalyst.

Modified Speciality Silica  need not go through the conventional method, simple cold blend with carrier oil shows better defoamer activities.
